PapaJohn at Support Space
Photography and video have been life-long hobbies, and as a 6-year Microsoft MVP awardee, providing services to Movie Maker and Photo Story users is now my career...
I offer much in the way of free support on websites, newsgroups, and forums, along with email responses and monthly classes at my local Portage, Michigan public library. There are also free downloadable items from my website at www.papajohn.org, such as custom profiles for Movie Maker and Photo Story..
Beyond free support, I offer fee-based products and services to help you capture, preserve, edit and share your memories.
Your current 'Best Value' for support from myself and other experts is Support Space.
Support Space - Your Current 'Best Value'
This image is a link to the main page... register and look me up. If I'm not on the first page, search by name to see if I'm online and available. From noon to 3 am Eastern time is your best bet.
If my light isn't green, or you need help with things beyond my skills, there are many others such as my son Stephen Buechler, an expert in hardware related items.
Support Space provides text chatting, phone chatting, and remote control tools... for effective communication during the session.
If you're new to this service, here's a little tutorial about using it as a customer...
Support Space - Customer Session
After registering at Support Space, log-in any time for a support session using youremail address and password...
If you already know the expert you want to contact... search by Expert Name as shown above. That's easy.
Let's assume the expert isn't online or is busy, and you would anyone available who can help you with the item.
Type in the name of the software... one letter is enough... like M gets you Movie Maker and more stuff.
If you have a specific item or question, enter it... and press the Go button.
Based on the software and your item, Support Space will show you the certified experts who would best support you... and their online status.
Select one and get started. Here's a pasted together image showing some of the key steps in the support session from the perspective of you, the customer. It's an easy process.
Text and phone chatting can be done throughout the session. My preference is to call so we can chat as we go. Support Space provides a phone widget to let me connect with my regular phone, but I usually use Skype with one of those Xbox wireless headsets... that keeps my combo home/office phone line free.
To go from chatting about your issue in step 1 to working on it in step 2, you need to go to the payment window. The free beta period ended on November 7, 2007.
