Transition Maker 2 Tutorial - Section 6

Publish Your Projects

After you've made and packaged your transitions, you use the 'publishing' feature of Transition Maker 2 to roll out the project to Movie Maker 2 for use in your movie projects.

This is one of the easiest steps of the process, but one that might get you the most excited... as you'll soon be seeing your personal transitions show up in the transition collection of Movie Maker, ready to apply to your projects.

Tutorial Sections

• 1 - Download TM2

• 2 - Install, Register and Review the Main Menu

• 3 - Understanding TM2 Projects and Transitions

• 4 - Create Your Transitions

• 5 - Package your transitions into Projects

• 6 - Publish your Projects to Movie Maker 2

• 7 - Use Your transitions in Movie Maker 2

Transition Maker 2 will create a new folder for the project under the Movie Maker 2 folder, and copy the needed files from your Transition Maker 2 project folder. The files are an XML file, a DLL with the thumbnails in it, and individual grayscale image files to be used as gradient masks.

The publishing is fully automatic, but to see the new transitions in Movie Maker 2, you'll need to close MM2 and restart it (if you had MM2 open during the publishing).

6 - 'Publish' your Project - a set of transitions for use in Movie Maker 2

A • Use the Publish/Unpublish button on the main window of TM2.

B • TM2 will create a new project folder under Movie Maker 2, copying the project DLL file (which has the thumbnails in it), a project-specfic XML file, and each of the images that will be used as transition gradient masks.

TM2 takes care of publishing all these files.... and it only takes a couple seconds.
