

Movie Maker 2 and DVD Burning Software - Media Center Edition 2005
Computers with the Windows XP Media Center Edition often include an extra feature for Movie Maker 2.1, an option to save your movie directly to a DVD. My HP Pavilion zd8000 notebook came with the feature, which I'll use to illustrate it.
Newsletter #76 was about the DVD saving option my my laptop, with the Sonic DVD wizard taking the handoff from the Movie Maker 2 saving wizard. It worked well... click the image to read it.

The Save Movie wizard in MM2 includes a selection to save your movie and copy it to a DVD.
Clicking Next renders the movie to a WMV file with properties appropriate for a DVD.
There are only a few options to fill in before you press the 'Create DVD' button.
A behind-the-scenes plug-in creates the MPEG-2 and other files needed to create the disc, and burns it. In these screen shots, it's a Sonic plug-in. The brand can vary by the computer's OEM and model.
