We arrived in Istanbul on a Sunday afternoon... in time to unpack and walk to the train station for a Turkish Mystic Music and Dance performance.
It was a Sufi music concert and Whirling Dervishes ceremony.... in one of the rooms of the Sirkeci Train Station, the destination of the famed Orient Express train. A week earlier we had been in Venice, one of the other main stops of the Orient Express.
Click the image at the left to see 10 minutes of the performance. As it's the end point of the railroad, there's no noise from passing trains. Our hotel, the Sarnic, was in the historic district, a couple blocks from the Blue Mosque shown in this picture. We passed it on every walk.
